Have started small, my first HV source was something like:
CPC 100
Mine were (before the first NST):
• Ruler + photo box
• Process
• Band generator
• Induction machine
• 12V circuit with auto-wound ZT-core (the thing power line design  my fault that I am so allergic to semiconductor) were still times when we still have a few hundred MVA experimented
That was a pretty old transformer, the secondary coil like a slice from a portable SW TV.
Controlled with a very simple circuit by ollen Vivian W. :D
Much out Ridge there, which was not only better with a 555 oscillator and MOSFET.
In me wars a DST from a PC monitor and the standard 555 control ;)
There's even a video to my YouTube channel ^^
My first source was an obit of the I've scaled down from an old oil burner. Was totally fascinated by the gefunzel ^^
catch all somehow with relatively big things... and I hang around still flyback with fly swatters with marx: ()
(my mom allows even not more) so my tc's good Aboud
